Seattle Magazine Readers Choice Poll, Best Northwest Resort

At the coast of Washington state, a stone’s throw from the Canadian border, Semiahmoo Resort offers a spectacular Pacific Northwest experience and exceptional views of Puget Sound. GGLO was chosen to renovate the resort’s Packers Kitchen + Bar to ensure that both the bar and restaurant are connected, yet stand on their own.

Packers Kitchen + Bar was transformed into a social theater from which to absorb the stunning views of the surrounding waters. The design, which draws inspiration from the site’s historic cannery, features dark steel, warm wood used in furnishings, the bar, and a fireplace surround. The warm, cozy atmosphere of the bar’s custom steel displays and antique oak wood flooring places guest comfort at a premium and serves as a backdrop for spectacular views.

The dining experience reflects a genuine and rich seaside spirit as well as a refined culinary diversity. Material selections, while still somewhat rustic, are lighter and brighter than the adjacent bar, evoking the essence of the surrounding beach shores with coastal colors deliver a set full of unforgettable moments. A private dining room was added with a translucent fireplace into the main dining area beyond. Up-to-date finishes, lighting, and furniture create an appealing atmosphere that is an unpretentious, cozy, and seamless marriage of rustic and modern.
